OCC Feature: Lee Taemin (OCC Junior Golfer)

As a proud home club junior and active participant in the OCC Junior Golf Programme, Lee Taemin has emerged as one of the most promising young talents on the junior golf circuit in Singapore. His dedication, talent, and composure on the course have led to a series of impressive achievements in recent years.

Lee represented Team Junior OCC in the prestigious SGA Junior Inter-Club League 2025, showcasing his skill as part of a top-tier junior golf team. He also demonstrated his individual prowess by clinching the title in the B Division (Boys & Girls aged 5 - 11) during the 5th leg of the 2024 SGA Junior Inter-Club League.

In the National School Games 2025, Lee was crowned champion in the 5 - 8 years category, further solidifying his status as a rising star. His consistent performances have earned him the No. 1 spot on the SGA Junior Development Order of Merit (Boys 5 - 8 years) in both 2024 and currently in 2025.

OCC recently caught up with him, and here's what he had to say.

OCC: Congratulations on winning the B Division in the SGA Junior Inter-Club League 2024 – 5th Leg and becoming the No. 1 ranked player in your age group! How did you feel when you found out?

Taemin: I was very happy and proud to be a member of Team Junior OCC. I was proud of myself as well.

OCC: You are part of Team Junior OCC in the SGA Junior Inter-Club League—what’s it like being part of a team?

Taemin: We practiced and played together, spending happy times. I was also happy to participate in the SGA Junior Inter Club League representing OCC.

OCC: When did you start playing golf? What made you interested? Was there someone who inspired you?

Taemin: When I was five, my dad took me to OCC driving range for the first time. I started to like golf because I could play golf with my mom and dad. Thank you, mom and dad, for supporting me.

OCC: What other hobby(ies) do you have when you’re not playing golf?

Taemin: Football and basketball.

OCC: Tell us something interesting about yourself that we don’t know.

Taemin: I am shy, but I also like to play together with others. I also like to eat, so I am a little chubby. I want to be a golfer like Tiger Woods.

With such an impressive track record at a young age, Lee Taemin is undoubtedly a name to watch in the future of Singapore golf.
